Acceptance

Recently Baba Ramdeo talked of homosexuality and quoted Spanish psychiatrist Enrique Rojas, and contended homosexuality as a disease.
I was shocked to hear that. Out of the whole world I never expected Ramdeo to say something like that. He was out of the lot, who was trying it hard to make world a better place to live.
The whole talk about homosexuality is not about article 377 , but about the fact that they are someone like us. All major mental health organizations, including the American Psychological Association (APA), have stated that homosexuality is not a mental disorder. It’s not a disease. So, darn how can some Babaji cure it?
He might be too much obsessed by his yoga, or he might have considered himself as next to god.
What ever, but one thing is clear, if this saffron clad yogic is allowed to traverse its path the long standing Indian ideology of pluralism and respect to humanity in any form would be in great danger.
We ,he and everybody else should readily believe that homosexuals are a creation of God. They are no different from us. They are human without disease. In fact they are much better then us, as they give us an important lesson, ‘Respect humanity in its very form of existence’.

P.S
1. Kudos to Naz foundation for it’s commendable work.
2.Pictures of the Gay parade in Delhi, something which makes me proud of Delhi.
3.There are some pictures of that parade on my friends facebook account. If anybody needs them do let me know.

  1. I am agree with Baba Ramdev. Homosexuality is a mental disease which can be cured with regular treatment. If a child is doing wrong thing then there is duty of parent or society that they should tell him or her, what is right or wrong.
    Yes removing 377 is good but prolifirating Homosexuality is bad. Otherwise concept of Adam and Eve would no longer exists.

  2. Have you seen zeitgeist? I truly believe religion has created more division than uniting the humanity under one name, one power.

    the only significance, according to my mom who is a devout beleiver in GOD [note: she questions practises in hinduism and follows only the bit that concurs with her thoughts] comes across in times of despair. When every thing seems to go wrong, the faith that there is someone who will take care of you, who is looking after you motivates you to move ahead. The entire faith could be a hypothesis but if it gives you hope, why not?

    However, I condemn and condone several practises in the name of religion - hindu or another.

    I have loads of questions regarding God, religion. life, death, mankind etc etc and until I have answers with proof for all of em, neither I can let go of God nor submit myself to him.

    Just like we can not prove his existence, we can not prove his absence too.

    Coming to Baba Ramdev and homosexuality. We , the society has always been rough towards the minorities, here the sexual minority.

    @ankur goel,
    please tell me what made you believe that it is a disease? i am sure, it is the social conditioning baising your rational thinking. No offence meant.

    @gaurav
    Hi5! indeed it is a time to celebrate.
    But i have a paradox for you to consider which has vexed me for sometime. How do we draw a line between the right and wrong. the pervrseness and purely natural? If homo-sexuality is normal, why is sex with animals not?
    If we say latter is wrong, even then it is nothing but our mindset conditioned by societal norms that make us hold a prejudice against it!

    Candidly speaking,one should be more focused towards seeing facts and logic,together with ones conception and perception with an open mind, and then take a stand on something. Adam and Eve have nothing to do with homosexuals,or do they?Nevertheless parents should be more focused in creating an aura around their children minds of openness and respect to all. Then and then only we can start thinking of embellishing Indian society with an ideology of 'Pluarlism' and 'Acceptance to all'.

    Yeah i saw it.n completely agree with you on that.
    Hope,it's something which petrifies me. It makes me weak. I would rather suggest the word confidence,confidence upon our true self which would take place of hope in our life.
    I won't say it's wrong,if you had seen the movie matrabhumi,you would get a completely different aspect of this.

  5. Let me put some opinion in your words:-

    All major Ayurvedic/Vedas exponents, Babaji, have stated that homosexuality is a disorder. It’s a disease. So, darn how can some American Psychological Association (APA) claim that it is not a disease or a disorder?

    Your whole article is premised on opinions of some medical organizations (and not yours), which you held above Babaji's ways of treatment, in general. You held them above before you start jotting down this argument. How can a biased & a preconceived mind would differentiate dogma from truth. Our aim as the so-called intellectual class is to understand the truth by way of direct investigation & experimentation in our own individual way rather than believe verbatim,what these association/corporations state. The very idea of creating these associations/corporations and our (west created) schooling system was to inhibit our growth as free thinker in order them to create servants & consumers(dependants) from our societies.
    Inclusive co-existence & Free thinking have always been integral parts of Hindutava. But these debates are intentionally being aroused in such a manner that the saffron-clad people should look like fanatics/orthodox. But its not the case, You can only realise this by meeting Babaji or Acharya Ved bhsuhan ji(Hyderabad) in person, who helped Babaji in many endeavors. He himself is an excellent Ayurveda & sanskrit scholar. They would speak to you in clear & rational way on all these topics by not discarding your views and no jingoism or declarations, but systematically help you understand the subject's intricacies. But to sit in such a dialogue, One should not to be biased, neither towards APA nor towards Babaji. Then only you would be able to decide for yourself, which version is correct. And remember that truth found by your experimentation would be dearly yours and not something that other individuals should necesarily agree. You should encourage them to find out themselves.
    Happy Experimenting!!

    P.S.: Do plan to spend 3-4 days in Kumbh or in Varanasi, May be if you are fortunate, you would get an opportunity to attend discourses & debates on science and philosophy which go much beyond petty TV/Newspaper debates of right & wrong.

  6. Interesting !!
    This notion & perception of free thinking has always given an extra thread of thought to my own observation and understanding about free thinking. If you are a supporter and a follower of free thinking, don't you think the Gay man has the same right to consider his so called disease as an act of god ? Don't he has the free will to decide ,with which particular type of sex he wants to elope with ? The whole idea about giving rights to homosexuality is based upon the freedom of free will. They are the so called independent thinkers !! If swamiji says he can cure it, I think that's ok. But that is not a disease. Its the way they are made up of. And they don't want to change. If they are willing to change, swamiji is of help. Nothing else. But if they don't want to change, it is their choice. Not a disease !!!
